Danger to Yoruba and Edo: BRGIE led by Ekpa letters Canada and stands up for Amaka Sunnberger

Amidst demands for Amaka Sunnberger’s prosecution for posing a threat to the safety of the Yoruba and Bini people in Edo State, the Simom Ekpa-led Biafra Government in Exile has written to the Canadian Government to defend her.Danger to Yoruba and Edo: BRGIE led by Ekpa letters Canada and stands up for Amaka Sunnberger

Remember how Sunnberger provoked anger on her Tiktok account with a now-viral video in which she threatened to destroy the Yoruba and Edo people?

In reaction to Sunnberger’s remarks, the Nigerian government on Thursday petitioned the Mayor of Brampton to prosecute Sunnberger for the threat through the Nigerians in Diaspora Commission, which is led by Abike Dabiri-Erewa.

Ekpa, the BRGIE Prime Minister, responded to the news by promising to stand up for Sunnberger.

Dr. Joy Robi, the Director General of the Biafra Ministry of Foreign Affairs, has now written a letter to the Mayor of Brampton, Canada, in an effort to fulfil his promise.

In a lengthy letter to the Canadian government that was shared on Ekpa’s official X account on Friday, he wrote that he was concerned about what he saw to be errors and possible misinterpretations in the claims made by NiDCOM on Sunnberger.

According to the letter, there have been multiple violent comments made by Nigerians against Biafrans, prompting requests for government prosecution.

“We give a counterargument below with proof of how the NiDCOM-represented Nigerian government has used video brutality to kill indigenous people in Nigeria, forcing many of them to escape the country in order to save their lives.

The attempt by two people to abduct Mrs. Amaka Patience Sonnberge’s child in Canada left her traumatised, according to information that has reached the Biafra Government.

Notably, Biafrans who reside in Nigeria and other countries endure severe suffering because to the

ongoing threat to the Igbo people’s lives. The fear of death has caused this mental maltreatment to go unnoticed.

“The head of NiDCOM hails from a wealthy Nigerian tribe that has received favourable recognition; nonetheless, she has chosen to overlook the severe psychological distress inflicted upon the Biafra people, who belong to the renowned Igbo ethnic group.

Notably, Mrs. Amaka Patience Sonnberge may have said hurtful things out of anguish because of the mental anguish that some Nigerian tribes have inflicted on her family in Biafra land, but that is insufficient reason for NiDCOM to support Mrs. Amaka Patience Sonnberge losing her job.

“In summary, I am adamant that the accusations levelled against Mrs. Amaka Patience Sonnberge are baseless and do not accurately depict her genuine nature.

“In view of the information presented, I humbly ask that you disregard the NiDCOM’s allegations and permit Mrs. Amaka Patience Sonnberge to carry on making valuable contributions to your Canadian community.

The letter states, in part, that “Mrs. Amaka Patience Sonnberge will be protected by the Biafra government from any action taken by the NiDCOM.”
