
In Q3 of 2024, the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) announced that it will sell Treasury Bills (TBs) for a total estimated value of N2.2 trillion.
In its Q4’24 Nigeria Treasury Bills Issue program, CBN revealed this today.
The CBN borrows money from the public on behalf of the federal government using Treasury Bills, which are short-term (less than a year) debt instruments. To regulate the amount of money in the economy, the CBN also employs TBs.
Starting on September 4th, 2024, and ending on November 20th, 2024, is the TB problem program.
The apex bank will issue TBs for N1.94 trillion on 364 days, N109.61 billion on 182 days, and N158.79 billion on 91 days within that time.
