DANGOTE: Contract talks are still ongoing, and NNPC has not lifted petrol yet.

Dangote Refinery has made it clear that while both sides are still negotiating conditions, NNPC Limited has not yet started lifting petrol at the facility.

Anthony Chiejina, the Group Chief Branding and Communications Officer at Dangote Group, stated in a statement on Thursday that because the petroleum industry is regulated, the corporation is unable to set the price of fuel.

He criticised the media’s assertion that the NNPC had started removing gasoline from the refinery.

We would want to clarify that our Dangote Petroleum Refinery is not yet the source of refined Premium Motor Spirit (PMS), also referred to as petrol, lifted by NNPC.

Since we have not yet finalised our contract with NNPC, the problem of fixing the price of petrol taken from our refinery does not arise.

All oil marketers and industry participants are aware of the tight regulations governing the PMS market, hence we are unable to ascertain, fix,

Because the reports “are misleading and do not represent the true position in this matter,” he asked the people to ignore them.

“We are ensuring that Nigerians will have easy access to exceptionally high-quality petroleum products throughout the nation.”

Over 17.6 million barrels of crude oil will be delivered to the Dangote Petroleum Refinery between September and October, according to information released by NNPC Limited.

Executive Vice-President, Downstream, NNPC, Adedapo Segun, stated in a national television program on Thursday that the action is a component of the federal government’s effort to promote domestic petroleum product production.

So far, we have given Dangote roughly 30 million barrels. We will deliver 11.3 million in October in addition to six-point-three million this month, he said.
