According to Okafor, Nigerians should be aware by now that the meeting that resulted in the temporary LP national chairman, Sen. Nenadi Usman, is unlawful and serves no purpose.
The factional LP chairman accused an unnamed individual from a gang of people determined to ruin the country and the party of spreading false information to him.
“We want to bring to the public’s attention that the jamboree gathering dubbed the Labour Party Stakeholders meeting, which was held in Umuahia, Abia State, is unconstitutional and unknown to any of the party’s organisations,” Okafor stated.
According to the consent ruling rendered by Hon. GO Kolawole on March 20, 2018, Okafor stated, “Article 11 of the 2009 constitution, which is the only constitution known to the party, categorically states the four organisations of the party: Ward, Local Government Area, State, and National.”
He went on to say, “Neither Mr. Peter Obi nor Dr. Alex Otto have the constitutional right to call a party meeting.
He declared, “We challenge Otti to present the official letter that the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) sent him about the matter.
“We are committed to reconciling all members and groups, mobilise and conduct all inclusive and expansive congresses in Wards, Local Government Areas, States, and the National convention that will achieve a unified, focused Labour Party that will redefine political leadership in Nigeria,” Okafor said in her reading of the letter.
