53 vehicles and $180,300 are given to Canadian Police by the EFCC.

On behalf of Canadian victims of financial crimes, the EFCC gave the Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) 53 recovered automobiles and $183,300 on Friday.

The anti-graft agency’s chairman, Ola Olukoyede, gave the RCMP agents in Abuja the retrieved assets.

The RCMP’s Regional Officer, Nasser Sadiou, and First Secretary Robert Aboumitiri of the Deputy High Commission of Canada in Nigeria were in attendance.

According to Mr. Okukoyede, the cars were pilfered from Canada and traced to many car lots in Nigeria.

Nine of the cars, he claimed, had been tracked to the customs port and were awaiting clearance.

He claims that in a romantic fraud, 16,300 U.S. dollars were recovered for Sandra Butler, a fellow Canadian, and 164,000 U.S. dollars for Elena Bogomas, a Canadian.

He claimed that one of the scammers had purchased an estate with his earnings and had since been apprehended, charged, and imprisoned; the property had been auctioned to recoup the money.

Everywhere in the world, financial crimes are known to have changed.

According to him, “those who commit these crimes do so in a way that makes it clear that their actions are extremely savage and borderless.”

He claims that they use a variety of strategies to make sure they travel across different legal jurisdictions.

Because of this, it is now absolutely essential that we work together with our friends around the globe. People have the same goal and mission as ourselves.

“The Federal Government of Nigeria is the beneficiary of the work the EFCC is doing today.

“It also serves as evidence that the President has given us the authority to reach out and make sure that this specific issue is resolved, and that is precisely what we are doing here today,” the speaker added.

Additionally, he argued, it was proof that financial crimes are not tolerated by the Nigerian government.

Furthermore, we will pursue it because, in addition to that, we will look into it, gather evidence, bring charges, and make sure the victim is returned.

“On behalf of the victims in Canada, we have retrieved cash, financial assets, and automobiles.

In actuality, the victims’ behalf was used to retrieve the 53 cars.

“We once had a victim from Canada named Elena Bogomas receive 164,000 US dollars.

Additionally, we have another 16,300 US dollars here that we will give to you today; they were taken from Sandra, another victim.

In his remarks following the signing of the documents transferring the retrieved assets, Mr. Sadiou expressed gratitude to the Nigerian government and the EFCC for their efforts in combating corruption.

“I’m overjoyed to be here. It feels good to come home. I am extremely pleased with the recovery, and we are grateful to the EFCC for their efforts.

“Your professionalism and dedication in the fight against financial crimes are demonstrated by this.

He declared, “The EFCC is one of the most important allies in the global fight against financial crimes, and in West Africa especially.”

During his speech, Mr. Aboumitiri praised the collaboration between the Federal Government of Nigeria and the Government of Canada.

He said that the collaboration was producing fruitful outcomes.
