
Initially established on June 9, 2023, the committees were supposed to last for six months.
With effect from September 6, 2024, Plateau State Governor Caleb Mutfwang has announced the dissolution of the 17 Local Government Transition Implementation Committee Chairmen.
But before they concluded on Friday, their terms were repeatedly extended.
The Governor’s Director of Press and Public Affairs, Dr. Gyang Bere, signed a statement stating that the Directors of Personnel Management in each of the 17 local government districts have been given the responsibility of supervising local government administration until the October 9, 2024, elections.
The Transition Committee Chairmen received praise from Governor Mutfwang for their outstanding leadership and commitment to implementing community-impacting development projects.
The statement said, “He expressed pride in their accomplishments and urged them to continue offering invaluable counsel to promote peace and unity within the Plateau State and Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).”
Governor Mutfwang praised the Chairmen of the Transition Committee for their outstanding leadership and efforts to the betterment of the community.
He congratulated them on their accomplishments and urged them to keep giving advice to promote harmony and peace within Plateau State and the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
In order to guarantee the PDP’s victory in the next local government elections, he also exhorted the past chairmen to collaborate with their communities.
The governor thanked the people of Plateau State for their unwavering support, emphasising that the results of the PDP primaries show how closely the party and the people are connected.
Governor Mutfwang restated his dedication to leading a responsible, transparent, and inclusive administration that looks out for the interests of all Plateau residents.
