In the hunt for Jenny Hastings, the former Scotland rugby international Scott Hastings’ wife, a body has been discovered.
According to police, a woman’s body was discovered on Saturday afternoon in South Queensferry’s Hound Point neighbourhood.
The Hastings family has been notified, but formal identification has not yet occurred.
On Tuesday, Mrs. Hastings vanished from Wardie Bay, a secluded swimming location close to Edinburgh.
Police stated that a report would be forwarded to the procurator fiscal and that there did not seem to be any suspicious circumstances.
About five miles (8 km) to the west of the location where Mrs. Hastings vanished is a rocky outcrop and marine port called Hound Point.
After receiving a “report of concern” on Tuesday, HM Coastguard dispatched several lifeboats and aircraft to aid in the search.
Later, the Hastings family made a statement in which they stated that she had “struggled with her mental health for a number of years”.
The statement went on, “The Hastings family is absolutely heartbroken.”
“We ask that at all times because Jenny and Scott have a large following of friends from many areas of life, including those who work in the media.
From 1986 to 1997, Scott Hastings, the younger brother of former Scotland rugby captain Gavin, earned 65 caps for his country as a centre.
The 60-year-old Jenny Hastings has previously discussed her issues with mental health in an honest manner.
Suffering from depression, she spent 36 hours walking miles to the Pentland Hills after disappearing from the couple’s Edinburgh home in March 2017.
She eventually went to a police station to get assistance, and she was grateful to the policemen for their help.
Later on, the couple led a charitable initiative to promote mental health and physical activity.
People were inspired to get outside and exercise with friends by the 100 Streets challenge.
