
Ademola Adeleke, the state governor, has been urged by the Joint National Association of Persons with Disabilities (JONAPWD) branch in Osun State to expeditiously enact the recently enacted disability laws.
Stephen Oluwafemi, the chairman of Osun JONAPWD, made the request in a statement on Saturday.
Oluwafemi also expressed gratitude to Governor Adeleke for the Disability Bill’s prompt ratification.
The Osun State Discrimination Against Persons with Disabilities Prohibition Bill was signed into law by the Osun State House of Assembly in May.
The statement said: “The Osun State Government is to be commended for enacting the Disability Bill by the Joint National Association of Persons with Disabilities, Osun State Chapter (JONAPWD).”
“The government’s dedication to advancing inclusivity and equal opportunity for individuals with disabilities is demonstrated by this historic accomplishment.
“That being said, we implore the government to move quickly to put the bill’s provisions into effect, especially with regard to the current teacher hiring process.
“We demand that the government make certain that individuals with disabilities receive equitable representation and opportunities throughout the hiring process.

Oluwafemi expressed optimism that the Disability Bill will be implemented promptly by the Osun State Government.
