Governor of Benue State Hyacinth Alia has stated that his administration believes Benue women are capable of carrying out any task.
This was said by him on Thursday during the swearing-in of Barrister Aber Deborah as the state’s first female Secretary to the State Government (SSG) at the Benue State Government House’s Old Banquet Hall in Makurdi.
The nomination of Aber as the first female SSG in the state, according to Alia, shows his administration’s commitment to advancing diversity and merit in leadership. He also stated that his administration acknowledges the significant responsibilities that women play in society.
“Barr. Aber Serumun Deborah’s appointment as the first woman to ever hold the position of Secretary to the State Government in Benue State is evidence of the faith this administration and I have in the potential of the women of Benue.”
The governor declared, “We are committed to advancing merit and diversity in leadership, and this appointment reflects our recognition of the important roles women play in our society.”
Assuring her of the full support of his administration, he expressed complete confidence in the new SSG’s ability to fulfil her assigned responsibilities, saying she will play a crucial role in ensuring the efficient coordination of government activities, fostering collaboration across ministries, and driving the policies and initiatives that will lead to the state’s sustainable development.
Alia urged all Benuenos, including public employees and stakeholders, to provide the new SSG and his government with the necessary backing to ensure their success.
He urged everyone to support and work together with his government in order to pursue progress and development in the state, saying that developing the state requires teamwork.
Deborah said that she was grateful to God and Governor Hyacinth Alia for allowing her to become the first female SSG and serve the state.
She committed to pilot the business of her office with attention and dedication in line with the administration’s strategy, building the basis for a better and more prosperous Benue.
