Maulud: Jigawa Government announces a work-free day on September 17

The government of Igawa State has proclaimed Tuesday, September 17, 2024, as a day off from work in observance of Eidel-Maulud, the day of the birth of the Prophet Muhammad (S.A.W).

This was revealed in a statement that Alhaji Muhammad K. Dagaceri, the State Head of Service, signed. Ismaila Ibrahim Dutse, the public relations officer, provided the statement to the media.

The message read, “I write to inform you that in honour of the Prophet Muhammad’s (S.A.W.) birthday, September 17, 2024, 14th R/Awwal, 1446AH, has been declared a work-free day by the government.”

The Head of Service congratulated all Muslims in Jigawa State and the nation on this year’s occasion while making the statement on behalf of Governor Malam Umar Namadi.

Dagaceri ordered state employees to use this time to offer prayers to Allah (S.W. A.) for His protection and direction.
