Nyesom Wike, the minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), has acknowledged that the government is powerless to compel city landlords to lower rent.
Wike asserts that the rent is determined by the market.
This was said by the minister on Saturday during the Zeberced Quarry inspection in Kubwa.
“No government sets a cap as regards the cost of rent,” stated Wike. The powers of the market are to blame.
