The Chelsea manager, Enzo Maresca, praised his substitutes’ contributions after his team defeated Bournemouth 1-0 on Saturday.
Evanilson’s penalty was saved by Robert Sanchez to keep the Blues in the match.
However, Christopher Nkunku was the one who came off the bench to score the game-winning goal with Jadon Sancho, another replacement.
After the game, Maresca was questioned regarding Sancho’s debut.
“He performed exactly as we had anticipated,” he responded. “Tosin Adarabioyo and Christopher Nkunku also met our expectations.”
“Joao Felix was excellent. The men on the bench were all excellent.
“We were creating opportunities, and he [Sancho] provided that little bit more quality from inside the box. Although Nkunku is not starting, he is performing admirably.
