Senator Francis Alimikhena and Hon. Omoregie Ogbeide-Ihama have officially defected from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to the All Progressives Congress (APC), one week before the Edo State governorship election on September 21, 2024.Each of the two was a member of the Eighth and Nineth National Assembly.
Ogbeide-Ihama is the immediate past representative of the Oredo Federal Constituency, while Alimikhena is the senator who most recently served as the senator for the Edo North Senatorial District.
“The man didn’t even join the group until September of last year. This impunity needs to end.
“On Saturday, everyone who backed the National Working Committee’s impunity should show up with their voter cards. Those who disagreed and insisted that the governor reveal his replacement must also show up on Saturday.
I work for the same municipal government as the governor. The outcomes will reveal. “We will repeat the same action for Monday Okpebholo in 2024, as we did for him in 2020,” he declared.
On the ticket of the PDP, Francis Alimikhena competed against Senator Adams Oshiomhole for the Senate seat.
The DAILY POST further recalls that Omoregie Ogbeide-Ihama was named by President Ahmed Bola Tinubu on August 19, 2024, as the new Executive Director (Strategy & Commercial) of Niger Delta Power Holding Company (NDPHC).
