
The public has been advised not to approach shooting range sites during an impending military exercise by the Nigerian Army’s 6 Brigade in Jalingo, Taraba State.
The 2024 Annual Range Classification Phase 2 exercise, which is set to take place from September 17 to September 19, 2024, is preceded by this warning.
The drill is scheduled to take place at the 114 Battalion Rear in Jimlari, Lau Local Government Area, according to a statement released on Monday by Captain Oni Olubodunde, the spokesperson for the Brigade, and distributed to state journalists.
The Brigade stated that the military exercise is a regular aspect of Army operations with the goal of enhancing soldiers’ proficiency with weapons and maintenance.
The statement made clear that shooting live ammunition and the movement of soldiers and military hardware will be part of the drill.
Noting that it was vital for the public to keep their distance from the exercise site, the official reassured the public that all necessary safety precautions had been taken to protect lives and property during the event.

their security.
In addition, the soldiers issued a cool down signal, warning the populace not to panic while they carried out the crucial training exercise.
