In Lagos, a road accident claims one life and injures eight.

One person has died and eight people have been injured in a car accident that happened on the Lagos Third Mainland Bridge.

It was reported that two Mazda commercial buses with the registration numbers LND 624 YE and EKY 804 YH were involved in the collision, which happened close to the Ilaje neighbourhood.

Since both buses had been travelling quickly from the Adeniji Adele axis towards Iyana-Oworonshoki prior to the collision, it was assumed that irresponsible driving was a contributing factor.

The Lagos State Traffic Management Authority, or LASTMA, was reported to have dispatched emergency personnel quickly, saving the eight seriously fractured passengers.

Lagos State Ambulance Services, or LASAMBUS, transported the wounded to Gbagada General Hospital in order to provide emergency medical attention.

To aid in rescue efforts, police officers from the Alonge and Bariga stations guarded the area.

LASTMA expressed its condolences to the deceased’s family, reaffirmed its dedication to traffic safety, and asked motorists to abide by speed restrictions and use caution when driving in order to avert tragedies of this nature.
