David Beckham regrets Man United’s absence in the Champions League, saying it’s heartbreaking.

David Beckham, a legend of Manchester United, called the team’s lack of UEFA Champions League qualification “painful.”

The Champions League tournament for this season got underway on Tuesday.

Man United’s season-ending performance last season prevented them from making it into the Champions League.

Their FA Cup victory allowed Erik ten Hag’s team to qualify for the UEFA Europa League.

“They are going through something, so it is a little painful not to see United there [in the Champions League],” Beckham said to CBS.

We are too big to leave this stage without returning. Thus, we must eventually be.
