
Mr. Ola Olukoyede said in the statement that the EFCC was dedicated to achieving electoral integrity nationwide by shielding voters from any kind of financial inducement to exercise their right to vote.
The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, or EFCC, announced that in order to combat voter manipulation during the gubernatorial election on Saturday, September 21, 2024, it has sent agents to every local government area in Edo State.
In a statement released on Friday, EFCC Head of Media and Publicity Dele Oyewale stated that the organisation was dedicated to achieving electoral integrity by making sure that voters cast their ballots in a democratic manner free from any kind of financial coercion.
He reiterated that the EFCC would not tolerate vote buying anywhere and that it was a financial crime.

“Our agents have been sent out to keep an eye on how the elections are going. We are dedicated to achieving election integrity by making sure that voters exercise their right to vote freely and without receiving any kind of payment. Vote buying is a financial crime and the EFCC won’t allow it anywhere”, he said.
As part of its responsibility to combat all financial and economic crimes, the Commission has always kept an eye on every election process across the nation.
