
At the scene, three victims were pronounced dead, while the fourth passed away at the University of Alabama at Birmingham Hospital.
A mass shooting on Saturday night in Birmingham’s well-known entertainment zone resulted in four fatalities and more than twenty injuries.
According to the Associated Press, the Birmingham Police Department has received many reports of gunshot victims on 20th Street near Magnolia Avenue in the Five Points South neighbourhood.
Just after 11 p.m., according to Officer Truman Fitzgerald, there were “dozens of gunshot victims” and at least four of them had “life-threatening” injuries.
At the scene, three victims were pronounced dead, while the fourth passed away at the University of Alabama at Birmingham Hospital.
WBMA-TV reported that police have identified the deceased as two males and a woman. Private automobiles were used to transport additional casualties to hospitals.
Fitzgerald told WBMA, “We will do everything within our power to ensure that we find, identify, and apprehend whoever is responsible for preying on our people this morning.” As of yet, no one has been arrested.
