Shettima leaves Abuja for the US for the 79th UNGA.

Vice President Kashim Shettima left Abuja for the United States to attend the 79th Session of the United Nations General Assembly, or UNGA, at President Bola Tinubu’s request.

Remember that the Vice President was given the task of leading the Nigerian team to the high-level international meeting by President Tinubu?

The President is expected to concentrate on resolving urgent domestic matters, such as the recent catastrophic flood incident.

Vice President Shettima will make the national statement for Nigeria during the session, take part in important meetings off-site, and have one-on-one conversations.

“Leaving no one behind: Acting Together for the Advancement of Peace, Sustainable Development, and Human Dignity for Present and Future Generations” is the theme of the high-level general debate.

The dates of the UNGA are set for September 24, 2024, through September 28, 2024.
