Five suspected vandals are apprehended by the NSCDC in the FCT.

Five people have been taken into custody by the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Command’s FCT Command for allegedly damaging vital infrastructure and national assets.

In a statement released on Wednesday in Abuja, the command’s spokesman, Samuel Idoko, revealed this information. He stated that two of the five suspects were apprehended while transporting vandalised iron poles near Wuse Market Bridge.

Idoko went on to say that the other three suspects were apprehended at midnight while trying to move vandalised goods to a place of sale in the vicinity of Durumi 2 Pantaker Market.

According to him, additional inquiry showed that purchasers came to the scene of the arrest at strange hours in trucks in order to purchase the goods and transport them to locations that were not yet known.

He said that in order to guarantee that justice would be done and those responsible for these horrible atrocities would be held accountable, an inquiry was presently in progress.

According to preliminary investigations, the suspects are members of a syndicate and are always in possession of objects that may have been stolen or vandalised.

Two solar batteries, a gas cylinder, a generator set, a refrigerator gas cylinder, an iron hammer and an air conditioner gas pipe are among the goods that were found recovered from the suspects, he added.

He declared, “The NSCDC, FCT Command, and the corps at large have zero tolerance for vandalism. They will face the full wrath of the law.”
