I responded solely to Bobrisky’s call – VeryDarkMan disputes slandering Falz and Falana

The controversial self-styled activist Martins Otse, also known as VeryDarkMan, has refuted claims that he defamed rapper Falz and human rights attorney Femi Falana.

According to the DAILY PULSE, Falz and Falana threatened to withdraw VeryDarkMan’s article criticising them within 24 hours, claiming that they had helped controversial transvestite Idris Okuneye, also known as Bobrisky, receive a lenient sentence while incarcerated.

After admitting guilt to naira mutilation, Bobrisky was imprisoned for three months by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) after his detention.

His release date was August 5, 2024.

Tuesday, September 24, 2024, saw the release of Bobrisky’s purported voice tape by VeryDarkMan. In it, the transvestite stated that the EFCC had dropped its allegations of money laundering against him because of the assistance of human rights attorney Femi Falana and his son Falz.

Chief Falana and Falz refuted the accusations in separate comments provided by their solicitors, Falana and Falana’s Chambers. They also asked that VeryDarkMan immediately remove the aforementioned publication and provide an apology that would be posted on all platforms in a day.

VeryDarkMan responded by denying that Falz and Chief Femi Falana were defamatory in a video message that was posted on his social media platforms.

He asserted that he simply responded to the call that Bobrisky disclosed.

“I have never and I will never disparage uncle Femi Falana. I hold Uncle Femi Falana in the highest regard. Not because of his status as a SAN, but rather because of the things he has done with it, standing up for people like me who speak out against the wrongs of society, the abuse of authority, the misuse of influence, and corrupt practices by the government, the speaker stated.

“My response was limited to Bobrisky’s call. It was him who said that Falz had given him a connection to uncle Femi Falana and N10 million.

And I stated that I made the decision not to think uncle Femi Falana would be connected to that, and if he was, I would be sad due to his standing in the community.

“I wanted a full investigation into the matter, so I declined to remove the portion of the leaked audio where Bobrisky mentioned Falz,” he continued.
