
The Senate has been notified by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu of the names of the new members of the North West Development Commission’s (NWDC) Governing Board.
The following are Tinubu’s nominations for the NWDC Governing Board that he sent to the Senate:
Ambassador Haruna Ginsau (Jigawa) is the chairman.
CEO/MD: Abdullahi Shehu Ma’aji, a professor from Kano
The following members are Yahaya Umar Namahe (Sokoto), Sen. Tijani Yahaya Kaura (Zamfara), Abdulkadir S. Usman (Kaduna), Muhammad Ali Wudil (Kano), Shamsu Sule (Katsina), and Nasidi Ali (Jigawa).
In order to expedite development in the North West geographical zone, which includes the states of Kaduna, Kano, Katsina, Kebbi, Jigawa, Sokoto, and Zamfara, President Tinubu recently signed on to a measure proposed by Senator Barau Jibrin, Deputy President of the Senate.
In addition to addressing poverty, low literacy rates, ecological issues, and other relevant environmental or development concerns in North-West states, the North-West Development Commission was established to assist in the reconstruction of roads, homes, and commercial buildings destroyed by multifaceted catastrophes.
