
On Tuesday, October 1, the Federal Government has proclaimed it a national holiday in observance of the 64th anniversary of the country’s independence.
This claim was made by Dr. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, the Interior Minister, in a statement released on Saturday in Abuja by Dr. Magdalene Ajani, the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry.
Tunji-Ojo celebrated the milestone with Nigerians both domestically and internationally.
The minister praised the perseverant and diligent men and women of Nigeria, emphasising that their sacrifices will not go unnoticed.
He underlined that in order for Nigerians to be motivated for the challenges ahead, they must consider the sacrifices made by their forebears.
As the minister wished Nigerians a joyous holiday,
implored them to stay firm in their nation-building efforts.
