Oil theft: Nigeria Army shut down an unauthorised refinery in Bayelsa, and others

One illicit refining plant in Bayelsa State has been deactivated by Nigerian Army, 6 Division troops working with other security agencies.

During the operation, two enormous metal tanks containing more than 30,000 gallons of stolen goods were found.

at addition, he said, the military found more than 4,000 litres of stolen goods at Diebu Creek, Southern Ijaw Local Government Area, Bayelsa State, along with three drums, five boats, and two operational illegal refining sites.

According to Danjuma, there were multiple illicit refining facilities in Southern Ijaw LGA. Additionally, approximately 15,000 litres of unlawfully processed products were found in the vicinity of Tobo, Obotoro, Arugba, and Okegbene creeks, along with nine barrels and six wooden bots.

In the Agip pipeline near Idu Wellhead 4, he said, troops had found two unlawful connection points with 200 meters of nylon hose.
