Kekere-Ekun is sworn in by President Tinubu as a substantive CJN.

Justice Kudirat Kekere-Ekun was sworn in by President Bola Tinubu to serve as the Chief Justice of Nigeria (CJN).

This was done on Monday during a ceremony conducted in the Aso Rock Villa’s Council Chambers after her nomination was confirmed by the Senate the previous week.

As the 23rd Chief Justice of the Nation, Justice Kekere-Ekun is just the second female to occupy this role in the history of the country.

Since August, she had filled the position of acting judge after Justice Olukayode Ariwoola retired.
