Ronaldo alludes to retirement, saying, “I don’t have much time left.”

One of the greatest football players of all time, Cristiano Ronaldo, has given the strongest indication yet that retirement is imminent.

The 39-year-old Portuguese sensation, who is presently with Al-Nassr in Saudi Arabia, conceded that his remarkable career is coming to an end following his most recent goal in an AFC Champions League 2-1 victory over Al-Rayyan.

Ronaldo said that his time on the pitch is limited in his post-match remarks.

“I’m just having fun playing football right now since I know I won’t be on the pitch for long. Being the top player or taking home the hardware is not important to me right now. Right now, I just want to enjoy myself and support my squad,” Ronaldo stated.

With a dazzling career spanning nine hundred and four goals, the forward has played for Manchester United, Real Madrid, Juventus, and has netted 132 goals in 214 matches for Portugal.

Ronaldo, who joined Al-Nassr in 71 games, has added 64 goals and 17 assists, demonstrating that he is still going strong at his age.

Ronaldo dedicated his most recent goal—which would have been his 71st birthday—to his late father, José, by pointing to the heavens in a heartfelt moment following his score. José Ronaldo went away in 2005 when Cristiano was barely 20, due to an alcohol-related liver disease.

Only a few weeks prior, Ronaldo had revealed on the “Rio Ferdinand Presents” podcast that his career would undoubtedly come to an end and that he would miss the rush of scoring goals and the anxiety that accompanies pressure-filled situations.

“I will miss the rush of excitement that comes with scoring a goal and the anxiety that goes along with it.” But I give it all to 40, 41, or whatever number. He said, “I give my body for 25 years of football, and I cannot offer more because my age prevents me from going farther.

Even after a challenging Euro 2024 campaign in which he was criticised for not scoring, Ronaldo is still dedicated to the game.

“I know I can continue to produce quality work for another two or three years.” I don’t even want to consider it after that, though. “Let me reflect now and get other areas ready, like my business area,” he continued.
