The Hisbah Board of Kano State has declared that sports betting of any kind is prohibited in the state.
This was disclosed during a press briefing on Hisbah’s redoubled efforts to combat immorality by Dr Mujaheed Aminuddeen, the deputy commander-general of the board.
According to Mujaheed, “Operation flush out immorality” has been relaunched, and our operators will shortly crack down on people and organisations who disobey social order.
In addition, he warned that landlords who rent out apartments to unidentified individuals risk being imprisoned since there are growing worries about homes being turned into motels and lodges.
Furthermore, Dr. Mujaheed presented the new rules pertaining to courtship, underlining that it would be forbidden for potential couples to sit in cars with tinted windows, particularly at night.
He said, “Street begging is against the law, and any female beggar discovered outside late at night will be arrested.”
He also threatened to jail any ladies found riding tricycles after 10 p.m., expressing concerns about the growing number of young girls engaging in prostitution.
“Violating these rules will attract stiff penalties,” Dr Mujaheed cautioned, urging on parents to supervise their children, particularly ladies, to prevent any wrongdoing.
