Workers from the Lagos State Environment and Security Taskforce have taken action against drivers who unlawfully parked their cars at Cubana Club, preventing traffic from passing freely along Sobo Arobiodu Road, GRA Ikeja.
Tokunbo Wahab, the Lagos State Commissioner for the Ministry of Environment and Water Resources, revealed this on Saturday in a statement and video posted on X.com.
In the course of the operation, which began at around one in the morning on Saturday, the statement claims that 28 number plates of cars thought to be in violation of the Lagos traffic code were taken.
According to the statement, “Today at approximately 0100hrs (1a.m.), the Lagos State Environmental/Security Taskforce team conducted a night enforcement operation. During this operation, the number plates of vehicles that were illegally parked in front of Cubana (Night Club) and obstructing the free flow of traffic along Sobo Arobiodu road, GRA Ikeja, were untied and subsequently confiscated.”
“All 28 license plates of cars found to be in violation of Lagos State traffic laws at the site were taken off.
The announcement also disclosed that defendants will face legal charges.
“Owners of the offending vehicles will all be charged in court,” it continued.
