In an effort to stop the increase in crime that occurs during the winter months, Adamawa State’s Commissioner of Police, CP Dankwambo Morris, has sent more officers to various towns nationwide.
In order to conduct tactical and intelligence-driven 24/7 raids against all violent offences, the commissioner ordered the deployment of state Command operatives picked from the Special Rapid Response Team, Crack Squad, Anti-Shilla, and Narcotics units.
The goal of the action is to completely clamp down on anyone disobeying the law as the country gets closer to December, when crime tends to spike.
Suleiman Nguroje, the public relations officer for the state police, made this announcement in a statement on Monday morning.
According to the statement, “These deployments will definitely assist in coordinating timely response to distress calls and in clamping down on those found committing crimes so that the law can take its course.”
According to the report, the CP has also instructed area commanders and divisional police officers to personally oversee operations in their designated spheres of influence in order to guarantee complete control over the public space, particularly at night.
The statement read, “The CP requests full cooperation from the public to report any suspicious characters around their neighbourhood to the nearest police station, while reiterating the Command’s firm determination to ensure safety of lives and property.”
It further said that people in the state might contact 08089671313, 08130013347, and 08030693476, which are the emergency lines.
