Alhaji Lamin Danbappa, the Director-General of the Kano State Pilgrims Welfare Board, verified N8.4 million as a deposit on Monday for state pilgrims planning to perform the Hajj in 2025.
In his Kano office, Danbappa confirmed the statement to hajj officers from the local government.
“The deposit for the Hajj in 2025 has been fixed at ₦8.4m only, as directed by NAHCON,” Danbappa stated.
According to the DG, the board would start collecting deposits from local government Hajj Centre Officers via bank drafts.
He said that the collection, which would start right away, would go on until the deadline, which will be disclosed along with the final Hajj fare.
He exhorted all aspiring pilgrims to make sure they pay on time in accordance with the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia’s schedule for the Hajj in 2025.
The DG said, “In order to ensure proper identification, intending pilgrims must submit eight passport-sized photos, a valid international passport, and a personal bank account.”
According to him, NAHCON has given Kano 4,356 Hajj seats, which will be divided among the state’s 44 local governments.
Alhaji Yusif Lawan, the Chairman of the Board of Directors, prayed to Almighty Allah during his speech, asking that He provide all aspiring pilgrims the ability and chance to complete their Hajj payments without any problems.
Also, Lawan urged on Local Governments Hajj Centre Officers to work diligently throughout the daylight and night to ensure that the assigned seats for their respective areas are secured and effectively maintained.
