In Q3, Apapa Command Customs brought in N1.6 trillion in revenue.

By the end of the third quarter of 2024, the Nigeria Customs Service’s Apapa Port Command reported that it had collected N1.6 trillion in income, as opposed to N1.172 trillion in total revenue for the year 2023.

This was revealed in a statement released on Monday by Usman Abubakar, the spokesperson for the Command.

Babatunde Olomu, the Comptroller of the Command, commented on the news and gave a breakdown, pointing out that N201.8 billion was collected in July 2024 and N193.9 billion in September of the same year.

He was optimistic that in the last quarter of the year, the Command’s sales performance would exceed that of the third quarter.

“While our revenue collection is strong, I am confident that we will achieve even greater success in the final quarter of 2024. I would want to express my gratitude to all of the compliance stakeholders for helping us reach this level of collection through their collaboration.

“I can say the best is yet to come,” he continued, adding that “reduced smuggling activities affirm the compliance we are celebrating.” We are not going to drop the ball. We can detect smuggling and make seizures because of our unwavering attention.

Our anti-smuggling efforts are carried out alongside trade facilitation, using our non-intrusive technology to scan cargo and perform physical inspections as needed. Comptroller Olomu added, “Let me also add that all bonded terminals under our control strictly adhere to these standards and procedures.”
