Premier League: Guardiola said on Man City star: “No club could afford him, he cannot leave.”

Pep Guardiola of Manchester City has acknowledged that Éderson stayed in the Premier League until the summer because no team was willing to meet their asking price for the goalie.

During the transfer window, Ederson was strongly associated with both Al Nassr and Al Ittihad.

However, after the Brazilian produced a number of crucial saves to lead City to a 3-2 victory over Fulham on Saturday, Guardiola disclosed the “truth” about what actually happened in the summer.

Guardiola stated, “He knew from the beginning that I didn’t want it, and neither did we, but the truth, I’m going to tell the truth, the offer didn’t come.”

“The true offer, since they present one, has a value and a cost because it is for the keeper and the squad that won four straight Premier League titles. If not, he is unable to depart. This is accurate.

Since moving from Benfica to the Premier League in 2017, Ederson has won six titles.
