The Nigerian Navy shuts down illicit refining facilities in the Rivers

The Nigerian Navy reported that during Operation DELTA SANITY, its soldiers found and shut down an illicit refining facility in the Bolo general area of Rivers State. The facility included one cooking tank, one storage tank, and one dug-out pit filled with an undisclosed quantity of stolen crude oil.

The Navy authority announced in a statement on its social media page that it had detained the accused thieves of crude oil until their investigations were finished.

It read, “Operation DELTA SANITY: On Saturday, October 5, 2024, Forward Operating Base BONNY found and shut down an illicit refining site in the Bolo general area of Rivers State. The site included one cooking tank, one storage tank, and one dug-out pit filled with an undisclosed quantity of stolen crude oil.”
