Businessman complains that Bobrisky was not prosecuted by Lagos Police

The incapacity of the Lagos police to prosecute popular influencer Okuneye Idris, also known as Bobrisky, for breaking the nation’s anti-gay laws has been criticised by Faruq Muhammad, a security consultant in the Federal Capital Territory and purported interim national leader of the #EndbadgovernanaceinNigeria movement.

He said he would stop at nothing to make sure the transvestite was put behind bars.

In response to Bobrisky’s actions, the security consultant petitioned Inspector General of Police Kayode Egbetokun, who then ordered the Lagos State Police command to look into him. However, the consultant expressed regret that, months after the directive, the Lagos police force was unable to carry out the IGP’s orders.

The businessman filed a suit stating that “Bobrisky’s recent social media posts violate Nigeria’s Same Sex Marriage Prohibition Act, as they purportedly depict sexual acts between men.”

He referenced two explicit video clips that Bobrisky had uploaded on his verified Facebook page, saying that they encourage homosexuality and disobey Nigerian law, which forbids same-sex partnerships and

He claimed that his complaint came after ten years of giving intelligence to Nigerian security forces and receiving praise from powerful figures like the Senate President and the Inspector General of Police. He claimed that by disobeying the law, Bobrisky’s actions not only break the law but also make fun of the Nigerian legal system by exploiting his apparent immunity as a public figure.

He declared, “I took action against Bobrisky to save Nigeria from God’s calamity, but the police at the Lagos State Command have been illegally trying to dudge the directive of the IGP on the matter. On September 4, 2024, they invited, detained, and granted him bail without informing the public or me as the petitioner.” That’s what caused me to grow really doubtful of the situation. I believe that in order to keep the situation quiet, something shady and suspicious occurred. In the event that this occurs, the Nigerian state will have been betrayed historically.

As a native of Kano State and a patriotic Nigerian, I have denounced Bobrieky’s actions and urged the police to rein in his excesses without taking corresponding measures. Bobriesky has uploaded pictures of himself and other males having appropriate fun. On March 1, 2024, Mr. Idris Bobrisky shared a second video clip on the same platform, which lasted three minutes and thirty-seven seconds. The description for the video said, “Special time with my man.”
