Man United enters the race for Boniface

In anticipation of a potential transfer fight with Chelsea, Manchester United has entered the competition to recruit Bayer Leverkusen’s sensational attacking player Victor Boniface.

Several elite European teams have expressed interest in the 23-year-old Nigerian striker since he joined the German team in the summer of 2023 due to his incredible play.

With 21 goals and 10 assists in 34 games during his stellar first season, Boniface was a major factor in Leverkusen’s historic Bundesliga victory that put an end to Bayern Munich’s long-standing domination.

With just eight Bundesliga appearances, the forward already had five assists and seven goals to his name. His incredible play carried over into the next year. With a commanding goal against AC Milan, he also just opened his UEFA Champions League account.

Fichajes claims that with Boniface’s possible transfer fee believed to be between €60 and €80 million, Manchester United and Chelsea are ready to compete for his signature.

Even though Rasmus Hojlund and Joshua Zirkzee, two promising strikers, were just signed, Manchester United is still eager to add more offensive options. Boniface is seen by the Red Devils as a guy who could give them the extra offensive punch they require up front.

Conversely, Chelsea has been searching for a top-tier striker for a while. The Blues’ transfer strategy, which centres on obtaining the top young players in international football, fits with Boniface’s background.

Since Boniface’s current deal with Leverkusen expires in the summer of 2028, the German team will have the upper hand in negotiations. The striker is concentrating on his play for Xabi Alonso’s team and doesn’t seem to be in any hurry to depart.

All eyes will be on the Nigerian international’s future as the January transfer window draws near, as Manchester United and Chelsea are both expected to make moves for one of the most intriguing young players in European football.
