According to fuel retailers, PETROAN, the Dangote Refinery operates its petrol pricing in secret.

It exhorted the refinery’s management to be transparent and solicit feedback from interested parties.

Billy Gillis-Harris, the president of the Petroleum Products Retail Outlets Association of Nigeria (PETROAN), has requested that Dangote Refinery cease its practice of maintaining fuel prices in secret.

It exhorted the refinery’s management to be transparent and solicit feedback from interested parties.

The Dangote Group owns the oil refinery known as the Dangote Refinery. The largest industrial conglomerate in West Africa, Dangote Group, is led by Nigerian billionaire and industrialist Aliko Dangote.

This was stated by Gillis-Harris on Thursday in an interview with Channels TV.

“As I speak to you this morning, I don’t know what Dangote price is all about, and that is speaking a lot because retail outlets like us should know the price input of Dangote at this point on Dangote campaign into Nigeria, but they have kept that shrouded in secrecy up until now,” he said.

He pointed out that although the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited provided a pricing template, Dangote Refinery’s contribution to the pricing was concealed.

“NNPC provided us with a pricing template, but it did not specify the precise price input from Dangote,” he stated.

Since Dangote’s business involves Nigerians, retail store owners like us, and various consumers, we will encourage him to open up the lines of communication, speak with stakeholders, and solicit insightful feedback from everyone. Even though it’s a private company, there should be some degree of business transparency.

“We should begin to witness the works, but we are quite delighted to have such a facility in Nigeria. Since we are unaware, I am unable to confirm to you whether Dangote has raised or lowered their prices.

He pointed out that the refining company discloses the price of its diesel in an open manner, but not the price of Premium Motor Spirit (PMS), or petrol.

Since the majority of us use them for diesel, I can tell you about their pricing because we were informed of them; but, I am unaware of any information regarding the PMS, he stated.
