For the November 16, 2024, Ondo State gubernatorial election, the Peoples Democratic Party has declared that its campaign has officially begun.

It is anticipated that party members from all around the country would gather for the event, which is set for Tuesday, October 15, 2024, along with notable political personalities like former presidents and vice presidents.

Ibrahim Abdullahi Manga, the party’s interim national publicity secretary, revealed this in a statement on Friday.

We extend an invitation to all serving and former PDP governors, members of the National Assembly Caucus, former leaders and presidents of the PDP, members of the National Executive Committee (NEC), all serving and former members of the Board of Trustees (BoT), and other important stakeholders to join us for the flag-off.

The event, which is scheduled for 10 a.m., though the location is still pending, will mark the formal beginning of the PDP’s campaign for Agboola Ajayi, its nominee for governor, and Festus Akingbaso, his running partner.

The PDP’s attempt to take back control of Ondo State makes the campaign more important.

The leadership of the party emphasised the importance of this occasion and urged all Ondo residents and party members to unite in order to secure victory.

As we lead the drive to restore decent government, let us work together with the good people of Ondo State to assure the success of our party’s candidate for governor, His Excellency Alfred Agboola Ajayi.” the statement said.

In the statement, Manga underlined that the election is about restoring hope, not just gaining power.

“We are dedicated to making sure that the people of Ondo State have a government that puts their needs first. Manga declared, “Our candidate, Ajayi, is committed to taking Ondo State to new heights of development.

According to PUNCH Online, the party will face off against Lucky Aiyedatiwa of the All Progressives Congress, the current governor, and other candidates.
