Learn how to combat unemployment, the VC at Nasarawa University advises young people.

Prof. Sa’adatu Hassan-Liman, the vice chancellor of Nasarawa State University in Keffi, has urged young people nationwide to think about gaining the necessary skills to address the persistent unemployment problem.

During the Department of Entrepreneurship Studies’ Student Product Exhibition on Saturday in the Keffi Local Government Area of the state, the VC made the announcement.

She underlined the necessity for young people to demonstrate a dedication to the development of their skills and talents in order to enhance their livelihoods, even if she acknowledged that not everyone will have the opportunity to obtain a white-collar job.

Hassan-Liman also urged the nation’s political leaders to assist the youth by routinely planning skill-building programs that would enable them to become financially independent and self-sufficient so they could also make significant contributions to the development of society.

As a result, the Vice-Chancellor praised the instructors and employees of the university’s entrepreneurship department for their efforts in preparing the students to hire employees in the near future.

In Nigeria today, it’s critical for students to acquire skills that will set them up for success so that, upon graduation, they can launch their own businesses and begin making money while looking for any type of employment.

It is important that you all practise the skills you have learnt so that you can eventually hire workers. The venture capitalist continued, “With the abilities you have gained, I can guarantee you that you are already well on your way to leading Nigeria to greater heights.

The head of the department of entrepreneurship studies, on her part. According to Dr. Monica Agu, the exhibition provided a forum for the students to express their distinct viewpoints via creative solutions, technology developments, and inventive solutions.

“The issue nowadays is that many students lack skills, and after graduation, they will start scouring the streets for white-collar jobs,” she continued. They have to acquire skills in order to be able to start their own companies and hire employees after they graduate.

A lecturer named Dr. Vincent Paul had earlier in his speech mentioned the skills the students learnt, including paint and soap making, photography, baking, fashion design, graphic design, event management, and planning, among other things, while thanking all the dignitaries for coming to the exhibition despite their hectic schedules.

In order to supplement the efforts of the government and the private sector in their attempt to provide quality services to the nation’s residents, he pointed out that the students were taught quality skills to assure quality production and marketing of the created items.
