UK to France: President Tinubu is on leave and free to travel wherever he pleases

In response to comments made following President Bola Tinubu’s flight from the United Kingdom to France, the presidency has stated that the president is still on a two-week leave of absence.

On October 2, President Tinubu’s Special Advisor on Information and Strategy, Mr. Bayo Onanuga, made the announcement of Tinubu’s departure for a two-week holiday.

“President Bola Ahmed Tinubu will depart Abuja today for the United Kingdom to begin a two-week vacation, part of his yearly leave,” Onanuga’s brief statement had stated.

“He will use the two weeks as a retreat to think back on the economic reforms his administration has implemented and as a working vacation.”

On Friday, President Tinubu left the United Kingdom for Paris, France, in another development.

The President is anticipated to attend a significant engagement, according to Ibrahim Kabir Masari, the Special Assistant to the President on Political and Other Matters, who made this announcement using his verified X handle, @KabirIbrah64.

Masari claimed to have had the privilege of meeting President Tinubu at his home in the United Kingdom, where they had fruitful conversations before leaving for Paris.

I had the privilege of meeting President Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu GCFR today at his private home in the United Kingdom. During our conversation, we were quite productive. After that, we left for Paris, France, for yet another significant appointment,” wrote Masari.

In response to remarks made during the trip, Onanuga informed Nigerians on Friday night that the President is not limited to the UK for his two-week vacation.

Through his confirmed X handle, Onanuga stated that the President is allowed to observe his leave of absence from any location.

“President Tinubu is on a two-week vacation. He does not have to stay in the UK. He is alone during this time. He is free to travel wherever he pleases. He continued to observe his leave, he stated.
