Customers in the South East have been notified by the Enugu Electricity Distribution Company Plc (EEDC) of a widespread system breakdown that has caused the supply outage that is now occurring throughout its network.
In a statement released on Monday night, Emeka Ezeh, the head of corporate communications at EEDC, stated that the system failure happened at 18:48 on October 14, 2024.
As a result of this event, we are unable to serve our clients in the states of Abia, Anambra, Ebonyi, Enugu, and Imo as all of our interface Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) stations are without supplies.
“We are on standby awaiting detailed information of the collapse and restoration of supply from the National Control Centre (NCC), Osogbo,” said the statement.
