Fear swept through the Tokulo settlement in Bwari Area Council, Federal Capital Territory (FCT), on Tuesday morning when 12 bodies—possibly those of bandits—were found.
The bodies remained in the region as of yesterday (Tuesday), according to Jerry Alkali, the local council member for Igu Ward.
Alkali went on to say that although the authorities had been informed, no formal justification had been given for the corpses’ presence.
None of the casualties were locals, according to a different neighbour who asked to remain anonymous. This suggests that the deceased may have been brought in or recruited before security guards opened fire on them.
The current head of the Bwari Area Council was born and raised in Tokulo, where bandits have killed several people, including residents and security personnel.
In September, five bodies—suspected to be bandits—were found in the Kawu village, which is located in the same area. This occurrence was comparable to that one.
The current event was confirmed by a representative of the FCT Special Anti-kidnapping Unit, but he would not elaborate on the specifics of how it happened.
It was not possible to get in touch with FCT Police Command spokesman SP Josephine Adeh for a response.
