President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has received praise from the Northern Elders Progressive Group for his efforts to combat insecurity in the area.
Alhaji Mustafa Aliyu Dutsin Ma, the chairman of the Arewa Elders Progressive Group in the Northwest, commended Tinubu’s new “Fansan Yamma” approach in a statement released on Thursday. The plan has shown notable progress in the area.
The Northern Elders claim that President Tinubu’s tough stance against insecurity has shown encouraging results, especially his choice to employ military force mercilessly to subdue bandits in their hideouts.
The group voiced confidence in Tinubu’s capacity to address the problem head-on, highlighting the boldness and devotion shown by his Defence Minister’s recent journey to the heart of banditry in Sokoto State.
Recently, Mohammed Bello Matawalle, the Minister of State, travelled to the eastern region of Sokoto State, where there has been an increase in banditry.
The visit was hailed by the Northern Elders as a “major achievement” in supporting President Tinubu’s campaign against insecurity.
“We are more delighted to believe that President Tinubu’s federal government is prepared to tackle the issue of insecurity head-on, seizing the initiative to destroy bandits’ strongholds and apprehend them in their homes without showing any compassion,” the organisation declared.
For long-term success in the war against banditry, the Elders recommended northern governors, particularly those in the northwest, to work with the federal government.
They especially commended Sokoto Governor Ahmed Aliyu for applying federal power to overcome the obstacles.
In order to help President Tinubu accomplish his goals of guaranteeing peace, togetherness, and cohesiveness for all Nigerians, the group pledged to act in a fatherly manner by offering advice, support, and goodwill.
They applauded Minister Matawalle’s efforts, the Chief of Defence Staff’s, and brave troops’ sacrifices in restoring peace and security to formerly inhospitable northern regions.
In order to bolster the morale of military operations, the Elders group encouraged President Bola Tinubu to extend the gesture of the Minister of State Defense’s and his military commanders’ on-the-spot visit to other bordering states in the area. The efforts made by President Tinubu to address the persistent problem of insecurity in the area have been greatly aided by this development.
