The Nigeria Police Force has detained its officers for pursuing an unidentified citizen into the Lagos lagoon.

This was revealed in a post that user @Omorhemi, who is aware of the occurrence, put on X on Friday afternoon.

According to the X user, the police officers have been identified and are being held by their superiors at the Lagos Command’s Area M.

“Thanks to some eyewitnesses who were able to identify two of the officers and the assistance of their DPO, they have been taken into custody at Area M, where the Area Commander is located at @BenHundeyin @Princemoye1,” the author stated.

In a video that @Omorhemi uploaded on Thursday, the resident was saved.

She had claimed that the police were pursuing the resident, who she had only described as the spouse of one of her friends.

“Police chased my friend’s husband yesterday morning until he fell into the canal. They took his slippers and the money that fell and left when people started shouting,” the woman wrote. This incident occurred at the Ipaja Ayobo axis federal bus stop. Right now, at Lasuth @BenHundeyin @PoliceNG, he is unconscious.

The resident’s head injury from striking his head on a stone contributed to his fall into the lagoon, as the narrator of the movie explains.

The cops pursued him until he fell into the lagoon, the narrator stated. Our only goal was to save his life. He was being pursued by the cops. This morning (on Wednesday), they pursued him. He struck his head on the abrasive rock. They stole the money that dropped out of his pocket.
