Witnesses said that the terrorists, who came in the hamlet in huge numbers on motorbikes and with automatic guns, abducted Alhaji Imamu, the local chairman of the APC, and other victims.
According to reports, armed men acting as potential terrorists stormed Dan Auta village in Katsina State’s Sabuwa Local Government Area, killing two and kidnapping 13 locals, including women and children, as well as the chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
Information surfaced that one of the victims of the incident, which happened on Friday at approximately two in the morning, was a security guard from the Katsina State Community Watch Corps (KSCWC).
Witnesses said that the terrorists, who came in the hamlet in huge numbers on motorbikes and with automatic guns, abducted Alhaji Imamu, the local chairman of the APC, and other victims.
The sheer quantity of attackers was too much for the KSCWC and neighbourhood vigilante groups to handle, even though they made an attempt to repel the attack.
According to reports, the incident also caused injuries to a number of individuals, some of whom were treated at the neighbourhood basic healthcare facility.
The public relations officer of the Katsina Police Command, ASP Abubakar Sodiq Aliyu, did not return calls to his cell phone, therefore attempts to get confirmation of the occurrence from the command were unsuccessful.
