November poll: Trump and Harris launch their campaigns in key states

As the battle for the White House enters its last leg, the presidential contenders from the United States and their running mates were anticipated to make their appeals to voters on Sunday in crucial swing states.

Vice President Kamala Harris was scheduled to speak at Stonecrest, Georgia’s New Birth Missionary Baptist Church on Sunday morning before going to a “Souls to the Polls” voter mobilisation event, according to CNN.

The vice president and Al Sharpton will be interviewed by MSNBC later in the day.

It was also anticipated that former US President Donald Trump will host a town hall event in Lancaster, Pennsylvania.

Star power was welcomed on the campaign trail by Harris and Trump on Saturday, when they criticised each other’s fortitude and encouraged early voting in critical areas that are crucial to the closely contested US presidential contest.

According to AFP, Harris recruited pop stars Lizzo and Usher to her rallies in Detroit and Atlanta, respectively, to energise her supporters while portraying her opponent, Donald Trump, as worn out and insane.

While billionaire Elon Musk was campaigning for him elsewhere in Pennsylvania, the Republican candidate for president, Trump, refuted the charges in a lengthy address.

With just three weeks before Election Day, both candidates are battling it out for the support of the electorate in a contest where polls appear to be almost matched.

Harris reiterated her promises to support the working and middle classes while telling Detroit voters that her opponent’s plan is “self-consuming.”

Harris stated, “We support the idea that the true test of a leader’s strength is not who they beat down, but who they lift up.”

After that, in Atlanta, Harris—who will turn sixty on Sunday—accused the 78-year-old Trump of “cancelling interviews and dumping debates due to tiredness.”

Have you observed that, when he does respond to questions or speak at a rally, he frequently rambles and goes off course, seemingly unable to complete a thought? said she.

“He refers to it as the weave. However, we shall refer to it as nonsense here.

Trump opened his almost ninety-minute rally with a long monologue honouring the late golfer Arnold Palmer, in honour of whom the Latrobe regional airport has his name.

Then he started his usual rambling tirade, criticising immigrants, disparaging Harris personally, and restating bogus statements regarding the 2020 race.

However, it was more of an endurance act on stage, with several guests and film clips from his campaign.

Not long after boasting about his opulent education at the exclusive Ivy League University of Pennsylvania, Trump made a grand entrance on stage accompanied by a procession of steelworkers wearing hard hats in an attempt to court working-class supporters.

With the words, “If we win Pennsylvania, we win the whole damn thing,” he further emphasised the significance of the electoral college delegates from the eastern US state to the outcome of the election.

Former US President Barack Obama took aim at Trump during the Las Vegas event, drawing a comparison between him and a crazy grandpa whose odd conduct would cause concern following his meandering speeches and peculiar dance party.

Therefore, if your grandfather started acting in this way, you would be concerned. I assume you would. You would ask your brother whether he had seen Grandpa recently. How will we proceed?

“However, this is coming from someone who desires unbridled authority, the most powerful position on Earth, with nuclear codes and everything,” Obama remarked.

Both candidates are spending their last days of campaigning in crucial battleground states where early voting has already begun as the election on November 5th draws near.
