According to Mr. Bimbo Fasasi, a member of the Labour/Osun State Government negotiation committee tasked with negotiating the state’s new minimum wage for workers, the group’s report ought to be available in the next two weeks.
This was disclosed by Fasasi, the Trade Union Congress Chairman for Osun State, in a message forwarded to our correspondent on Monday.
Additionally, he stated that the state’s workforce had expectations from Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke about the new minimum wage, and he gave them assurances that implementation will start following submission.
We’re looking at one or two weeks at most from now. With God’s blessing, we will finish it and start the implementation process, stated Fasasi.
When asked what the TUC boss thought the governor should expect from the workforce, he replied, “We will always expect the best.” As you may remember, Mr. Governor served as the South West Governors’ representative on the group tasked with negotiating the national minimum wage.
Thus, he has been informed about the entire procedure from the start to this point. Furthermore, we have no cause to suspect him based on his past performance, which has always been favourable for the overall wellbeing of the workforce.
We know he will live up to his promise of being among the finest that he made to us.
Kolapo Alimi, the Osun State Commissioner for Information and Public Enlightenment, had earlier said that the Adeleke-appointed state Minimum Wage Negotiation Committee will shortly finish its work.
Elder Ayanleye Aina, the Commissioner, quoted a memo from the Office of the Head of Service as saying that Mr. Kazeem Akinleye, the governor’s chief of staff, is in charge of the government team.
