France intends to buy weapons for Ukraine with 300 million euros in Russian assets.

According to BFMTV, the administration plans to purchase military hardware that will be shipped to Ukraine with the money it has taken from Russian billionaires.

Defence Minister Sébastien Lecornu said on television that the money will be obtained before the end of the year and that France will provide 12 Caesar artillery systems. These will also be used to purchase guided bombs, rockets, and shells.

Given that the confrontation between the two neighbouring countries has been going on for more than two years, the minister underlined the need of helping Ukraine in order to stop Russia from annexing further land.

This declaration coincides with Volodymyr Zelensky’s ongoing call for allies to remove prohibitions on the direct use of Western weaponry against Russian targets.

Germany, the United Kingdom, and the United States have all rejected this demand in spite of repeated demands.
