Soldiers eliminate 140 terrorists in a week.

In the last week, Nigerian military forces have detained 135 people and killed at least 140 terrorists around the nation.

Emmanuel Onwugu, an IPOB commander, and Pius Iguh, a founding father of the Indigenous People of Biafra, were among those detained.

Maj. Gen. Edward Buba, the Director of Defence Media Operations, told reporters in Abuja on Thursday that Onwugu was captured in the Mbano Local Government Area of Abia State and Iguh was nabbed in the Orsu Local Government Area of Imo State.

“Troops at FOB Orsu carried out a sting operation in the South East theatre that resulted in the arrest of an IPOB terrorist leader,” he stated. One of the founders of the ESN organisation in the Orsu general region of Imo State is the terrorist commander that was detained, Pius Iguh.

In a same vein, forces at FOB Amaruku carried out a raid that led to the capture of Emmanuel Onwugu, another IPOB terrorist commander. He was taken into custody in Abia State’s Mbano LGA.

In a related sting operation, security agents and military detained Ifeanyi Rock, a well-known cult leader. He was captured at Arochukwu, Abia State, along with ten of his fighters.

In the meantime, forces apprehended 135 people, killed 140 terrorists, and freed 76 hostages who had been abducted during the same week.
Buba said that 18 suspected oil thieves had been taken into custody and that N1.7 billion worth of stolen crude oil had been found.

“Troops also arrested 18 oil theft perpetrators,” he said. The troops denied stealing an estimated N1,751,886,550.00 worth of oil. 33 crude oil cooking ovens, 19 dugout pits, 41 boats, 70 drums, 22 storage tanks, and 47 illicit processing facilities were found and destroyed by troops in the Niger Delta region. Thirteen speedboats, one trike, four motorbikes, and three cars are among the other goods found. 557,210 litres of illegally processed AGO and 1,122,710 litres of stolen crude oil were found by the troops.

He said that 3,254 rounds of ammunition and 241 weapons were collected by the forces.

One PKT gun, two FN rifles, 17 manufactured rifles, 26 Dane guns, 13 pump-action guns, 42 AK47 magazines, four locally built handguns, one Beretta pistol, two bayonets, and 141 AK47 rifles make up the breakdown.

“Other items include 113 live cartridges, two Baofeng radios, three vehicles, thirty-one motorcycles, eighteen cell phones, 2,016 rounds of 7.62mm special ammunition, nine hundred rounds of 7.62mm NATO, thirty-three rounds of 7.62 x 54mm ammunition, and 76 rounds of 9mm ammunition,” he said.
