At a BRICS conference on Thursday, Russian President Vladimir Putin declared that a full-scale conflict was imminent in the Middle East.
“The military campaign that began in Gaza a year ago has now extended to Lebanon. At a summit with world leaders in Kazan, Putin stated, “Other countries in the region are also affected.”
The degree of hostility between Iran and Israel has increased significantly. All of this reminds me of a domino effect and puts the entire Middle East at risk of full-scale conflict,” Putin stated.
During the meeting, which Palestinian leader Mahmoud Abbas attended, Putin declared that the Middle East’s violence would not stop until an independent Palestinian state was established.
According to the Russian president, “implementing the two-state model that has been approved by the UN Security Council and General Assembly is the key demand for restoring peace and stability on Palestinian territories.”
“Correcting the historical injustice towards the Palestinian people” is what he added.
“The vicious cycle of violence cannot be broken until this question is answered.”
