Social media critic VeryDarkMan has received a severe warning from Nigerian musician and activist Folarin Falana, better known online as Falz, warning that he would be held accountable for his conduct.
Falz’s comments coincide with the two parties’ ongoing court battle, which was brought on by a leaked audio tape of Bobrisky, a transvestite.
During his incarceration at Kirikiri Correctional Centre, Bobrisky said in the tape that Falz and his father, Femi Falana, reached out to him in order to assist him in obtaining a presidential pardon.
When VeryDarkMan posted the leaked audio on social media, it sparked a lot of online discussion.
Falz responded to the situation by suing Bobrisky, stating that Bobrisky had contacted him in order to obtain financial support.
Falz officially addressed the matter for the first time on Wednesday in an appearance with the Afro Beats podcast, accusing VeryDarkMan of making unfounded statements devoid of supporting data.
He threatened that he would “give him the trouble he is looking for” and voiced his displeasure that the critic had not issued a public apology.
“This guy was immediately defensive when I tried to reach him over the audio; I’m like, bro, try and listen.” Why are you fighting right away? Falz stated.
“You are a lawyer, Shebi, so you can appear in court,” he continued without holding back.
“I will let him know that slander can have a criminal component, but I decided against taking that route. Given that what you posted is completely untrue and that I require you to remove it and issue an apology within a specific time frame, he may have been jailed. What did he do? Nothing.
“I’m not sure if it presents him as a hero. People are attempting to paint me as an oppressor, and he didn’t say sorry. That’s what I do if you say you want to find trouble. Let’s go if you are adamant that’s what you want.
